In inquiring with a fellow team mate I confirmed that we would be climbing Mt. Cameroon at the beginning of our trip. Mt. Cameroon is located on the Southwest Side of the mountain range that Lake Lyos is on. The Lake is one the Northeast side. Mt. Cameroon is actually the most active volcano in West Africa not to mention the highest mountain. It last erupted on May 28th 2000 and that lasted til June 19th. It erupted before this on March 28 1999. No one had died from the eruptions although several people were injured while researching the volcano as it was erupting. (to be honest I don't know why someone would be so smart to go up a volcano as its erupting but...) Mt. Cameroon is the highest point in Cameroon reaching 4,095 m ( I am assuming above sea level). I think that Climbing this mountain will only be the start of challenging times we will face while in Cameroon. Yet to reach the Top and looking out will be something that sweat and toll are worth. Lets Climb to the Top!
